How Many Hats Can One Person Wear?
Today I wore about 9 different hats. Don’t try and count them, as I skipped writing about some things I did today. But I think there are about that many I will mention here . . .
Met with two people who are in the advertising department of one of the papers that sponsors our Art Festival in the past. After giving them a quick tour of the Commonwheel Gallery, we went to a nearby cafe. Easier to talk than standing in the Gallery, and our basement office, though never very pretty, is all dust and cold and unusable. They bought me a Chai and we began discussing the Festival sponsorship. They had great news for me, the paper would sponsor again. And I hadn’t even filled out the application. Sweet!
And they had some advertising suggestions if we wanted to upgrade the visibility of the ads they would donate. I told them I had to wait and see what our budget looks like in the next couple of weeks regarding getting other sponsorships and the cost of shuttles, etc.
They will make sure I have the correct people to send my stories for both the 40th Celebration of Commonwheel Old Spokes Gallery show and the Art Festival to aim at getting some good press for being in business and having held a successful Art Festival that many years. They agreed it was a newsworthy accomplishment, but the advertising and article writers are separated like Church and State in all news agencies.
Then we switched to the Gallery and what we wanted to do for advertising there. We are nominated for “Best Of the Springs” and in years past have had an ad in the big issue that announces all the winners. Not a cheap ad, but it does get held onto long after it is printed by people who want to check out the winners in various categories.
Went back to the Shop to finish copying my Sales Tax Report and it became very busy. The shop worker was experiencing some glitches and was still pretty new to working the sales desk. I spent an hour helping her out and getting a very nice pot packaged properly to travel.
Plus I had to help find paperwork for two different things that were not obvious. Made some copies for the Sales book and then left for a stop at the not open Post Office and home.
Came home and called my friend to see if she could hike tomorrow. And yes, she can. Sure hope this time the promised sunshine will prevail. I could really use a sunny day of hiking to keep me fired up for all I need to do this week.
Spent time emailing about Festival pieces and shop advertising notes about what I had learned at the meeting this morning.
Went to change the phone message on the Festival Message line, and discovered no one had been taking care of them for this month. Wrote down the info from the requests and will take care of them another time. Probably on Wednesday.
Checked my personal emails, then fixed my lunch to eat sitting in the sun. I do so appreciate my south facing porch in the winter. Just have to be sure to get out there when the sun is high in the sky to enjoy it the most.
Another author friend called me and wanted to update me with his progress, or lack of it, and run some ideas past me. I had some suggestions for him and am trying to get him to just embrace the concept of Self-Publishing as the best way to go for all of his book ideas. Plus I had some ideas for ways to market them differently from the one that he is not having success with now. Then I came up with some ideas of how to market that one differently – he has 2,000 physical copies in storage, and they aren’t selling. Needs to do something different and I had 3 suggestions for him, and just now thought of another one. We’ll see what he says after our phone call and the next one we are scheduled to have within a week.
Then I focused on getting one of the books I am revamping to have published on CreateSpace. I made some major changes in its format and the order of the information. Will see how the author reacts to them. I did send it off for him to review and let me know how to proceed before getting too much farther on this project and have him want major changes to the changes I made.
Made a final decision that I can’t go to NAMS this year. Just too much on my plate to travel, and the timing is a bit off for all the irons I have in the fire right now. Still, I would have enjoyed connecting with others in the internet marketing and book publishing market and actually met my favorite trainer, Tony Laidig, in person. Maybe next year . . .
Then there is my brother and his band web site. He still isn’t happy with pieces of it. I just can’t work on that tonight. Too late, and have to think about what I can do to make him happier. Something he had no problem with in the past, suddenly doesn’t look right to him. But it is his web site, and I do want him to be happy. He did so much for our parents in their last years on this planet, this is the least I can do for him since I live far away and he was only 20 minutes away from their home, and he helped them both so much in their final years. I dearly Love and greatly appreciate him for being there for them. I can see how the love he had for our parents shines through all he does and in his music.
One more blog to post upon for myself tonight, and then to bed.
Sales Tax Ready to Mail and a Bit More Organized Office
I did end up spending all day in my office.
My Annual Sales Tax Report is finished and ready to mail!
Plus I got a good start on all of my tax preparation to get to my accountant for this year’s IRS and State Tax filings.
When I am finished with that, my filing drawers will be much more organized than they have been since I was evacuated for the Waldo Canyon Fire in July of 2012. That was the start to my being even more disorganized than normal. Grabbing important files and then never actually putting them back in their proper places . . .
It was a beautiful sunny day and a friend tempted me to go hiking, but really felt I needed to get my Sales Tax Report done, and found other items that needed attending to sooner than later.
I did spend my lunch time sitting on my front porch soaking up the sun and reading the Sunday papers.
As much as I love my computer, I really enjoy reading real news papers and books, rather than reading on a computer. Its the dinosaur side to me. And they are easier to read sitting out on a sunny porch than a computer screen.
At the end of the day, worked on a business card for Sharing Inner Health for Kathleen’s new business name and contact information. Next she needs me to create her a web site. Business card and logo finalized first, then on to a bigger project for her.
And my brother wasn’t happy with how I jazzed up the Parish Gap band web site. So I turned it back into what looks boring to me, but hopefully will make him happy. If you are ever in Oregon and see they are playing near you, go check them out. Really great performers who play a mix of original, current and past favorites.
I have some time still tonight to look at the Structured Water Book I am helping to revamp. That will also help me have a better understanding of the product and all of its benefits.
Or I could listen to the webinar I missed on Thursday, but I think I feel more like being productive than learning tonight.
Sales Taxes and CreateSpace Fun
Yesterday I realized I needed to have my annual Sales Tax Report done, postmarked and paid for by the 20th!
Then today realized that the 20th is Martin Luther King Day and the Post Offices will be closed. So I believe I have an extra day without a penalty, especially since the 19th is a Sunday and no Post Office is open then either.
But I hadn’t even started on that project.
Doing this Report is also a good start for my IRS Tax Reports for my accountant. And a good time to get all of my 2013 papers in one place.
Silly me, I checked my emails first and had requests for help from people.
Quickly did a price change for my brother and nephew’s business. That was easy.
Doing a business card for another person will have to wait until my sales taxes are finished. I have a good start on it, and she really can’t get them printed until Monday or Tuesday anyway . . . so called and told her why I couldn’t do that today.
And then there was a CreateSpace book to upload and it wasn’t working for the author. She finally gave me her log in info, and that was really helpful and a good move to make sure it looked right.
She had looked at it and thought it looked pretty good. But when I looked at it, I didn’t like how the margins were working. One can’t really see that until they view the book on CreateSpace in the Review section.
And then when I made the changes it would not upload. The name of the File had a “?” in it and I had forgotten CreateSpace did not like such a thing in a file being uploaded to it.
Plus it kept saying there was a problem with the trim size! Now how when the 8×10 book was created using an 8×10 template could there be a problem with the trim size? Even after making a call, I still don’t understand why it is just a warning, not a real problem with the file.
I put a final update there for her to review and hopefully all the glitchy pieces are fixed and she can send it off for a final review.
I did make progress on my Sales Tax Report information gathering task today. Looking forward to finishing it up tomorrow and getting some order to my very messy files.
Can’t be too hard on myself with the flooding and Festival move that happened this year.
Want to take some steps to be better organized in 2014 and not have such a mess at the end of the year.
Eye Exam and New Distance Glasses
It has been a long time since I last had an eye exam, at least 3 years have passed since my last one I am sure.
And for many years since my lasik surgery for my monovision, I have been very happy to not need glasses in everyday situations.
But I had recently noticed it was a bit harder to see things at a distance, and even watching a movie on my VCR screen, I needed to wear my distance glasses to see clearer.
So I have been looking at coupons for eye exams and buying glasses these last few months.
When I called my normal place to get an exam, I was told I couldn’t have an appointment until early February, about 4 weeks from when I called, and it would cost me $180!
A coupon for a $49 exam and one for glasses either 2 for one price or the same percent off as my age intrigued me more.
I called this morning and they could see me in an hour, so I hopped in my car and went to check them out.
Really nice and helpful people.
I did add some expenses to the eye exam that were offered, but since I hadn’t had an exam in over 3 years, I really wanted a full picture of the health of my eyes. And it still cost about half of the other quote I had gotten.
It was really interesting seeing a picture of my eyes. The one dark spot I was shown turned out to be a floater, as it moved to a different area in the second picture of that eye.
Basically, for my age, my eyes are pretty healthy. A little bit more astigmatism is probably causing the lessening distance vision. But nothing else looked threatening, so that was a relief.
I bought two pairs of distance glasses. One will live in my car as my old pair has done these last few years. The other pair is a bit fancier and I can take them with me to movies or the theater or any where I might need to see something clearer that is farther away than my computer screen.
And I will probably keep my old pair in my hiking backpack, just in case I want to see something in the distance better. Though they told me switching back and forth might be a bit difficult, I will probably try it and see how that works.
And then, I still need to buy a pair of reading glasses, but wanted to wait until my next “payday” for my art work happens in early February. But I have had some good FantaFaces mask sales on ETSY, so might just take that money and treat myself to reading glasses next week. And a person who sporadically pays on a loan I made years ago, seems to be back on track to paying that off, so that gives me a little more financial wiggle room to update my eye-wear on all levels.
And of course there was a glitch in my world when paying. For some reason my debit card was refused for the full amount. I had over $500 more in the bank than the cost of the glasses and exam. Something had prompted me to bring my business debit card with me as I was getting ready to leave the house. I split the cost between the two cards, and it all went through fine.
When I called my bank to understand what had happened, it seems that the new cards for the new bank name have been issued, and they have a different expiration date. I hadn’t activated the new cards yet, but seems I had better, as this problem could happen again, and I might not be as prepared as I was today.
Just wasn’t ready to spend the time to update all my web payment places with new information, and was told my current cards were good until they expired, so didn’t feel rushed. But now I do. And that will be in my schedule to happen over the next few days.
While waiting for my glasses I had gone to a friend who I collect coupons for and had just gotten back into town after a 6 week visit with family in Texas. She fixed me a soup lunch and we got caught up with each others lives. Great way to spend a bit of time waiting for glasses to get made.
My roommate fixed a nice dinner for me and her boyfriend, so that was a nice treat.
Now catching up with some of the computer work I didn’t get done today being on the other side of town . . .
Very Long Day at Commonwheel Gallery
A day of training a new person, inputting inventory, too many people behind the desk at one time, and I am exhausted tonight.
In the morning shift of my day at Commonwheel, I had a very fruitful meeting with two advertising people from the CS Independent. They are going to go beyond the normal advertising relationship for us and help me in other ways. One of them may have a solution for how we can afford to “keep the Music playing” at the 2014 Arts Festival. That is a pretty exciting lead he has for me.
And they have a sister paper that I want to get some conversations with about our Co-op Gallery, and the Arts Festival both being in their 40th year. We need to celebrate and have the media get excited for us also.
And on Monday, I have a meeting with someone for the advertising side of the other major sponsor and newspaper in our area. Hope I can get her as excited as the CS Independent folks were when they left the Gallery.
I also helped a new person learn the ropes of being a gallery sales desk worker during the afternoon shift.
Since the Commonwheel offices that were in our basement were destroyed by the flooding last summer, the inventory is done by another member at a computer in the sales area.
And so is the shipping information. We have a member learning the ropes for doing the shipping and things were not going smoothly for her, and she could not handle working in the “cold storage” room where all of the items needed for packing were kept. So she was working in the Gallery area, and twice needed on the accounting computer.
Plus we had a decent sales day for the Pots By The Pound sale going on in the guest artist gallery area.
So it got very crowded behind the sales desk today, with me training a new member, and two other members needing access to the second computer, and customers lining up items that needed weighing all in a very small area.
I worked on my inventory, which also added to the crowding of the sales area, but there wasn’t anywhere else to go, as I didn’t want to leave the new member alone if was to go into the “cold storage” room and work there. Plus I really didn’t want to be that cold today.
I don’t think I sat down all day long and my feet are very sore and tired now.
At the end of the day, I still had to do the Festival T-shirt inventory, and that was more challenging than I had expected.
We close the shop at 6:00 pm in the winter. The new person had some difficulties checking out properly, so I worked with her until after 6:30pm. Then I didn’t get the T-shirt inventory finished until 8:00 pm.
Some of the T-shirts that are very different from other ones have the same code. Not good! And I didn’t have the energy to fix them, so I put all of the mis-tagged shirts in one tub with a note that they need new tags. I made up the proper inventory numbers, so I could give a completed inventory to our accountant, but will have someone else make the tags another day.
Came home and luckily had some great leftover food that was easy to heat up for dinner, and decided I needed a drink.
And with this the last thing I absolutely have to do tonight, I am going to head to bed early so I can rest my feet properly and get a head start on the day tomorrow.
Hiking and A Festival Meeting Today
My day started with a hike in Red Rocks Canyon Park.
Yesterday, I had gotten done the paperwork that I needed to have ready for the Festival meeting, so felt comfortable heading out the door to meet a friend for a short hike at a nearby trail.
The promised sunshine was elusive, but I am discovering that grey days like these make for some very beautiful photos.
The tallest snow dusted mountain in the back is Pikes Peak.
The thin strip down the first hill to the right is the Manitou Incline.
Many fitness hikers and runners go up that every day.
Seems a bit crazy to me, and not fun at all!
Instead, I prefer leisurely hikes in beautiful areas.
When I finished the hike, stopped to buy some jack cheese that I needed for the Chili Relleño Casserole I was preparing for the Festival committee and headed to the Gallery to make some copies for the meeting.
Oddly, the two women who resigned from the Festival committee because they recently became members of the Commonwheel Board were both at the Gallery when I arrived. Change of shift time.
At home, I started to prepare for the meeting.
My roommate was getting ready to leave shortly, but graciously decided to vacuum the living area, clean the bathroom and sweep the kitchen floor. Very Nice! And much appreciated help.
A new member who had planned to come to her first Festival meeting, called and said she didn’t feel well, and thought she might be coming down with what her husband had, so she wouldn’t be at the meeting tonight.
I was sorry she couldn’t come, but none of us would have wanted to risk being exposed to any germs tonight. So I told her I would send her the minutes and we could discuss what tasks she might want to help with in the future for the Arts Festival.
The biggest glitch of my day happened last night.
I had thought I had put the final version of a book in my Dropbox folder for the author to give one last review. If it passed that review, it was saved in the proper format for her to publish on CreateSpace.
I didn’t open my personal computer or emails until some time after the Festival meeting was over.
She had emailed me early in the day saying she didn’t see the final version, and sure enough, it was in her folder on my desktop, not in Dropbox.
Not much I could do, but apologize and put it in her Dropbox folder to find either later tonight or in the morning.
As I have a long day working at the Commonwheel Gallery tomorrow, I imagine that is all I will get done, other than my blogging.
With any luck, I will be able to do my annual inventory while working, as I will be training someone, and will let her work the sales desk alone to be sure she is comfortable doing that before she has to work the Gallery alone.
So that would make it a more productive day for me to have that task completed.
But if the Gallery is busy, which one always prefers, I will just stay after the Gallery is closed and finish that task.
The
On Being Too Many Faces For Too Many People
Today was one of those days that people from all parts of my world called upon me to help them.
And all the while, I am trying to get ready for the Art Festival committee meeting tomorrow night.
Plus my house is feeling very chaotic, it is even driving me a little bit crazy.
I need a day to just sort out where things belong.
Although I did a little bit of that tonight, just the beginning of what needs doing. But my living room area does look better for the meeting tomorrow.
Pulled in so many directions!
Not sure which way was up at times.
Or which way to go to get things done in an orderly fashion.
But I did get many things done, and headed people on the corrected or right paths for them to move forward.
The 8am phone call from the handy man to tell me that the locksmith would call me to find out when he can come to Commonwheel to fix the lock was really unnecessary. “Did I wake you?” he asked. I am not a morning person, and I was just barely awake. And he knows darn well when the Gallery opens!
A call from someone who can’t get Yahoo! to quit billing them and remove the email account had me try and do deeper research for her. We thought this was finished two months ago! And she can’t get anyone on the phone, or gets somewhere and a voice comes on and then hangs up on her.
Spent a couple of hours helping another client figure out things on her computer, show me what she needs for a new business card, and get her hosting account and new domain name set-up. Now I have lots to do for her as she enters a new phase of her life. Sold her School, and going into private practice. I am enjoying helping her along this path. She writes very well, and I am sure she will be inspired to write more when she can blog and share some of her healing knowledge with many people.
I have two things to attend to before the night is over to feel ready for my Festival meeting and have a beginning for the 40th Year Retrospective Gallery show that happens this April, that I had agreed to coordinate in last July, just before all the flooding happened.
Some days I wonder when I will be able to focus on doing things I really enjoy, like my own books . . .
Though I have to admit that helping people get published and web sites up are things I can see that demonstrate how I have a purpose in life that makes a difference in other people’s lives.
And I do get to hike tomorrow.
So I had better get the last two things finished up so I will enjoy the hike and not worry about what isn’t ready for the meeting tomorrow night.
Ready to see where this trail will take me.
Sunshine is predicted and I am ready to enjoy fresh air and and some beautiful views away from my office.
Sometimes It Feels Like Going Nowhere Fast
Ever get the feeling that the more you do, the farther behind you get?
That thought came to me today.
Worked on emails for sponsors for the Festival, started the agenda for the Wednesday meeting, tried to make sense out of some financial reports. Nothing was totally completed.
Had a walking detour when asked to get a key for our meeting place from the person working the shop. A nice walk in the sunshine, a little longer than just going to the Post Office to mail a couple of masks that I had planned. But again, better to exercise in the sun and in fresh air, than just bouncing on my Cellusizer in my home.
That always feels good. Sending off masks to people going to masquerade events far away, knowing they will enjoy wearing a comfortable mask and get transformed for a night.
Then there was a longer than planned Board meeting relating to looking at a new POS system for the Commonwheel Artists Gallery. Hope we are making the right decision and we asked all the right questions of the presenter. A Co-op functions very differently than a retail store and we really do need an upgraded POS System to become more functional and in step with the way most Galleries are set-up on the financial side.
At the end of the meeting the person who worked the gallery asked me to stop and check to be sure the front door was locked. She said she had pushed on the handle, so I couldn’t imagine it not being locked.
And I almost didn’t stop, but decided to put everyone’s mind at ease and check the door. Shocker! The door was not locked. One can easily see if the cylinder is crossing between the two doors, and there was no silver cylinder visible as I looked at it. And when I turned the handle, the door opened easily.
I the alarm system was on. You just have to shut to door as you leave for it to think it is properly closed. It doesn’t care if the door is or isn’t locked.
But how lucky we were that no one tried to open the door and quickly grabbed some jewelry before help would have arrived!
When I tried to lock it from the outside, it would not lock. And I had set the alarm, so had to run back and turn it off.
Called our maintenance person, and just got a message. He had done some work on the door earlier, but obviously it needed more attention to function properly.
When I did successfully get the door to lock. I unlocked it, and set the alarm, then tried to lock it again and it would not lock! Run back in and turn off the alarm. Gave up on setting the alarm and played with the door some more until I succeeded in locking it again.
Called the next day’s Gallery worker and let them know the problem and that our maintenance person had been informed of the problem and to make sure he shows up.
And not just doing my nightly writing and may even try to get to sleep a bit early and start fresh in the morning for Festival and get some changes done for one, or both of the people’s books I am helping to get published on CreateSpace.
Then there is a meeting for setting up a new web site using WordPress to shut down one in Yahoo! SiteBuilder that I can hardly wait to never have to touch again as it can only be accessed using my Parallels entrance into a very old Windows machine hidden on my Mac.
Wild Weather Day Wind Snow and Sun
I started my day by taking photos of the FantaFaces feather masks I had made yesterday to put on my Etsy page.
I was going to take more photos of some items from my parent’s estate, but decided to wait.
Just as I got the last item from my outdoor photo studio into the house, I heard a howling wind and turned to see an amazing sight.
The calm, sunny day had suddenly turned in to whirling windy snowy scene.
And I mean this happened in just a few seconds after I came stepped inside with my last mask.
That wind would have been a disaster if I had any of my photography items still on the porch when it started blowing!
The snowflakes were swirling and the trees were blowing like crazy. Doesn’t show up so well in a photo, but it was wild!
Then as quickly as it started it ended!
And it became sort of the perfect light to do some more photos. I really wanted to try out my new camera’s Macro capacity on some jewelry items.
So I did a quick set-up and learned a few lessons.
Don’t wear a RED shirt when photographing shiny, reflective objects!
I did get much more detail in the items, and the color of the stones came out much more true. I didn’t realize until I downloaded the photos just how wearing a red shirt caused me some problems. It reflected many places on these shiny items, making some interesting arty photos, but not very accurate for posting on ETSY for sale.
Though a few items I had never gotten a good detail photo of came out better than ever before.
I had tried to get a detail photo of the cameo so many times, and it never showed a face, just a blur. And the Rhinestones came out truer in color than I had ever seen before. Though that red shirt did affect some of the stones a bit, and where the green on the pearl at the bottom of the cameo is a mystery of where it came from.
I also used some different background materials, none of which really made me as happy as the ones I usually use, but was in an experimental mood with this photo shoot today on many levels.
Just need to keep practicing with the camera, and figure out how to use my new flexible stand to hold the camera. May need to figure out how to use a screen to keep colors in nearby items from showing up on shiny objects. Still, I felt the session was more successful than many I had had in the past for being able to get close-up of jewelry items.
And I also got quite a bit done working on the Structured Water book today and packed two FantaFaces masks that did sell on ETSY this weekend. Then put four of the six masks I made yesterday on ETSY, and have 2 more to take to the Commonwheel Gallery tomorrow.
Plus got in a very short walk with a friend who stopped by to say hello. And just as we headed back to the house, the wind came up again and a bit more snow fell upon the ground, but we were back at the house before it got too windy.
Phone Call Changed how I had Planned My Day
I had planned a day to work on formatting a book and time in my feather studio.
I was happily getting lots of work done on the Structured Water book I am helping get revised for reprinting on CreateSpace, and just about to take a Brunch break.
Then the phone rang just after noon.
It was a guest artists who was showing in Commonwheel’s Pots By The Pound Sale Gallery event.
He asked me how I was, and I said “Good, thanks.”
He replied “Well, you won’t be so good when I tell you this.”
I had visions of large broken pots, as that had happened at a past event . . .
He continued by saying “The Gallery isn’t open. I called about 5 people trying to find a member’s phone number, and someone had yours.”
Why there was no longer an “Emergency Phone Number” sign in our window, I have no clue. There was by the time I left the Gallery.
This was a Saturday of one or our biggest sales, and I later found out all the invited guest artists had been contacted to bring in items to restock today.
I didn’t hesitate or think about what I had planned on getting done today. I told him I would be there as quick as humanly possible.
I changed out of my clothes that were more suitable for being in my feather studio than looking like a professional artist behind the desk in a Gallery.
Grabbed a energy bar and something to drink and flew out the door.
I made it there in record time – and yes, I walked, hiked, or kinda dashed to the Gallery, about 6 long blocks away.
I had the Gallery open by 12:30, and since it was a lovely day, I left the door propped open so people could see we were OPEN!
I really didn’t have time to check in properly, people followed our guest artist in and I made sure they all understood how the sale worked.
And people quickly brought items up to the sales desk to purchase them.
Soon I was kinda swamped and a bit overwhelmed.
Mind you, one must weigh the pottery to find out its price, and that takes a bit of time. Then when it is sold, it must be properly wrapped and packaged for the customer to carry out of the store and get home without the chance of it breaking.
And this sale entices people to buy multiple items, as they are getting great bargains on beautiful pottery and other art work that is marked way lower than normal.
A very new member showed up and immediately offered to help me by wrapping the pottery. What a lifesaver she was.
And there was an unusual situation when using the new Square Credit Card “machine” that took me a bit of time to remedy. Never had seen this challenge before, and took some tries to get out of the situation.
Because I was smiling and laughing and let everyone know this was a new challenge, but I would resolve it, all the people in line just relaxed and encouraged me to not worry about them. And someone noticed another person had many of the food items. That customer said yes, I love the Women’s Project food items and they are marked at half price, so I am stocking up! Two other customers then went back while waiting and picked up some of those food items.
Sometimes glitches can be very profitable.
I got the Square back on track, and my helper had taken advantage of my slowness to weigh other customer’s pottery, so the line then moved along very quickly as I tallied up the sales, and she continued to pack them up.
And everyone was thrilled with their purchases and the bargains they got that day.
It always helps to keep people informed and let them know you appreciate their patience when dealing with a challenging situation.
A simple thank, and acknowledging that you appreciate someone’s positive attitude can be magical in shifting people’s moods and creating understanding.
I had called the second shift worker to be sure she would show up. And she hurried through her errands to arrive a bit early and relieve the other member and helped me until her shift time arrived.
Things quieted down as her shift time arrived, so I did leave her alone.
When I got home had a small lunch sitting in the SUN on my porch considering how to finish my day.
Instead of putting just one hour into my book project, decided to go into my feather studio an hour before my scheduled time, knowing I still had to write my blog posts later.
I have had a sudden series of mask orders, so that made the most sense to me, for how to spend my time in a longer block focused on one thing, rather than begin a short time on the computer, then have to stop and get into my studio. I was afraid the computer project could delay me from my studio time, so up the stairs I went.
And Carnivale is Coming to Manitou Springs in the not too distant future. Another good reason to get myself into my FantaFaces studio for longer periods of time right now!
