My day started with a hike in Red Rocks Canyon Park.
Yesterday, I had gotten done the paperwork that I needed to have ready for the Festival meeting, so felt comfortable heading out the door to meet a friend for a short hike at a nearby trail.
The promised sunshine was elusive, but I am discovering that grey days like these make for some very beautiful photos.
The tallest snow dusted mountain in the back is Pikes Peak.
The thin strip down the first hill to the right is the Manitou Incline.
Many fitness hikers and runners go up that every day.
Seems a bit crazy to me, and not fun at all!
Instead, I prefer leisurely hikes in beautiful areas.
When I finished the hike, stopped to buy some jack cheese that I needed for the Chili Relleño Casserole I was preparing for the Festival committee and headed to the Gallery to make some copies for the meeting.
Oddly, the two women who resigned from the Festival committee because they recently became members of the Commonwheel Board were both at the Gallery when I arrived. Change of shift time.
At home, I started to prepare for the meeting.
My roommate was getting ready to leave shortly, but graciously decided to vacuum the living area, clean the bathroom and sweep the kitchen floor. Very Nice! And much appreciated help.
A new member who had planned to come to her first Festival meeting, called and said she didn’t feel well, and thought she might be coming down with what her husband had, so she wouldn’t be at the meeting tonight.
I was sorry she couldn’t come, but none of us would have wanted to risk being exposed to any germs tonight. So I told her I would send her the minutes and we could discuss what tasks she might want to help with in the future for the Arts Festival.
The biggest glitch of my day happened last night.
I had thought I had put the final version of a book in my Dropbox folder for the author to give one last review. If it passed that review, it was saved in the proper format for her to publish on CreateSpace.
I didn’t open my personal computer or emails until some time after the Festival meeting was over.
She had emailed me early in the day saying she didn’t see the final version, and sure enough, it was in her folder on my desktop, not in Dropbox.
Not much I could do, but apologize and put it in her Dropbox folder to find either later tonight or in the morning.
As I have a long day working at the Commonwheel Gallery tomorrow, I imagine that is all I will get done, other than my blogging.
With any luck, I will be able to do my annual inventory while working, as I will be training someone, and will let her work the sales desk alone to be sure she is comfortable doing that before she has to work the Gallery alone.
So that would make it a more productive day for me to have that task completed.
But if the Gallery is busy, which one always prefers, I will just stay after the Gallery is closed and finish that task.
