Yesterday I realized I needed to have my annual Sales Tax Report done, postmarked and paid for by the 20th!

Then today realized that the 20th is Martin Luther King Day and the Post Offices will be closed. So I believe I have an extra day without a penalty, especially since the 19th is a Sunday and no Post Office is open then either.

But I hadn’t even started on that project.

Doing this Report is also a good start for my IRS Tax Reports for my accountant. And a good time to get all of my 2013 papers in one place.

Silly me, I checked my emails first and had requests for help from people.

Quickly did a price change for my brother and nephew’s business. That was easy.

Doing a business card for another person will have to wait until my sales taxes are finished. I have a good start on it, and she really can’t get them printed until Monday or Tuesday anyway . . . so called and told her why I couldn’t do that today.

And then there was a CreateSpace book to upload and it wasn’t working for the author. She finally gave me her log in info, and that was really helpful and a good move to make sure it looked right.

She had looked at it and thought it looked pretty good. But when I looked at it, I didn’t like how the margins were working. One can’t really see that until they view the book on CreateSpace in the Review section.

And then when I made the changes it would not upload. The name of the File had a “?” in it and I had forgotten CreateSpace did not like such a thing in a file being uploaded to it.

Plus it kept saying there was a problem with the trim size! Now how when the 8×10 book was created using an 8×10 template could there be a problem with the trim size? Even after making a call, I still don’t understand why it is just a warning, not a real problem with the file.

I put a final update there for her to review and hopefully all the glitchy pieces are fixed and she can send it off for a final review.

I did make progress on my Sales Tax Report information gathering task today. Looking forward to finishing it up tomorrow and getting some order to my very messy files.

Can’t be too hard on myself with the flooding and Festival move that happened this year.

Want to take some steps to be better organized in 2014 and not have such a mess at the end of the year.
