Feeling a bit Squirrelly on this Grey Day

The morning was sunny, but the predicted storm clouds arrived on the wind as the day wore on.

Feeling a bit squirrelly in Manitou Springs

I wasn’t really feeling on track having not come to terms with having a new health challenge.

These little guys sitting in the tree outside my window did make me smile.

I had many phone calls to make relating to getting appointments to find out just how challenging this new health challenge really is. And what it will cost me to do all the scans and get the reports. The phone rang just as I was getting dressed, and that was the first of many calls I would get from the Hospital to set up the appointments. Everyone was very helpful and I can sort of afford it.

Just when I thought I was feeling more financially comfortable, this comes up. Though I am grateful I have the Peak Vista coverage and can just about afford this without having to make payments.

And then I received a call to set the appointment for having a free Mammogram appointment this month.

I also needed to set-up a meeting at The Fields Park for the Commonwheel Art Festival to discuss placement of the new electrical resource with the concept of moving the Music to the other end of the Park. He called me back and will meet with him tomorrow.

My neighbor had me come look at the renovation project she is doing. She wants to be able to run a drain along my stone wall to get water away from the back of the small cottage right next to my property line. I think it will be fine. And with the new guttering and new roof on that cottage, there will be less rain and snow hitting the side of my house that has been damaged by too much moisture hitting it and staying there during the winter.

Then she told me of the raccoon that had torn off some of her new roofing and was hibernating in the attic. He won’t come out, so drastic measures will be taken soon. How he figured out he could get in there is a mystery to me. He just tore a bit of roofing off where two gables met and is now snug as a bug in a rug with all the new insulation in the attic.

As we chatted the wind came up and the air started feeling very chilly. Time to get back inside.

My tenant had paid her rent, so I drove to the bank. Then I had a wild desire to have a cooked chicken and some different veggies and fruits and maybe Ginger Ale for lunch. I hadn’t gotten around to eating at my normal time and it was getting on towards 3pm, so I was hungry. Not my usual way of approaching grocery shopping, but didn’t get too off track. In fact, stayed pretty much with good food that will be comforting to have the next few days.

Tony Laidig had a guest for his Expert Media Show tonight. Daniel Hall, who did a really great training for doing audio books. Would love to take this course, but not sure with the health tests and the timing if I can afford it. May ask a friend if she would be interested in learning it with me and collaborating on some projects, and paying half the fee. Have to think about that overnight.

I had good news that the at risk boys that help with the heavy listing at the Art Festival can be there even if we have a beer garden. Yippee!

Taxes still not totally done, but have all the info I need to put the numbers into the report for my accountant and set an appointment to discuss some of the items I am unsure of where they belong. Always a fun process with the number of businesses I have.

It is always eye-opening to see how much I spend compared to how much I bring in. Too many programs and classes that I haven’t fully used this year. Though I will grant myself the fact that the flooding of Manitou Springs that closed Commonwheel’s Gallery and filled that basement with mud and water twice, plus having to relocate the Art Festival played into making it difficult for me to concentrate on my businesses. And then the exhaustion factor that set in after the intense 3 weeks related to relocating the Art Festival didn’t help either.

I still have lots to do for the Gallery show I am curating in April and a couple of web site clients that need some work done. Tomorrow will be a busy day on the computer for sure.

I will think hard about the audio book course and maybe get inspired for getting more written about essential oils. I do have that book that would work well as an audio book, and could build on that easily.

March is still looking good for getting back into the groove of writing as I get caught up with my other tasks and put my taxes behind me.
